Position Summary
Tawam Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist to join its multidisciplinary pediatric team. The successful candidate will provide specialized care for children and adolescents with hematological disorders and cancers, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and evidence-based treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric patients with benign and malignant hematological disorders and cancers.
- Provide comprehensive care for conditions including:
- Leukemia
- Lymphoma
- Solid tumors
- Sickle cell disease
- Thalassemia
- Hemophilia and bleeding disorders
- Bone marrow failure syndromes
- Anemia and other hematologic conditions
- Lead the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
- Supervise chemotherapy protocols and monitor treatment outcomes.
- Manage inpatient, outpatient, and emergency pediatric hematology-oncology cases.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences.
- Collaborate with pediatric specialists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Provide family counseling and education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care.
- Support quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical governance initiatives.
- Participate in teaching, mentoring, and training junior physicians and healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to clinical research and academic activities.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program.
- Fellowship/Subspecialty Certification in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology from a recognized institution.
- American Board, Canadian Board, CCT (UK), Australian Fellowship, Arab Board, or equivalent recognized qualification.
- DOH License as Consultant Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologist or Eligibility for DOH Licensure.
- Minimum experience as required by DOH/PQR standards for Consultant level.
