Purpose / Description
The Concrete Batch and CDL Equipment Operator is a developmental operations position designed to prepare a qualified individual to safely operate yard and loading equipment, become qualified to operate a concrete mixer truck, and progress into responsibility for concrete batching and daily production coordination. The employee receives structured, supervised training while supporting safe, accurate, efficient, and customer-focused concrete operations.
Upon successful completion of required training, licensing, certifications, and proficiency evaluations, the employee is expected to lead assigned batch operations, coordinate drivers and loader operators, maintain production and quality standards, and respond appropriately to safety, equipment, inventory, delivery, and productivity issues.
Yard Assistant and Equipment Support
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized yard, plant, material-storage, and work area.
Assist with material handling, stockpile management, housekeeping, traffic control, and general plant support.
Perform pre-use inspections and safely operate authorized yard, front-end loader, and related equipment under supervision.
Monitor material levels and conditions; report contamination, shortages, spills, hazards, and equipment defects promptly.
Follow lockout/tagout, PPE, environmental, emergency-response, and site-specific safety procedures.
Complete assigned inspection forms, operating records, and training documentation accurately and on time.
CDL and Concrete Mixer Operations
Complete CDL preparation courses and all company, DOT, medical, Clearinghouse, and road-qualification requirements before driving on public roads.
Conduct required pre-trip, in-route, post-trip, and equipment inspections and document findings.
Safely operate a concrete mixer truck and related delivery equipment after authorization and qualification.
Load, transport, discharge, and deliver concrete in accordance with dispatch instructions, customer requirements, and safe operating practices.
Protect concrete quality during transport and delivery; communicate delays, jobsite concerns, product issues, or rejected loads promptly.
Provide professional customer service and maintain accurate delivery, mileage, inspection, and vehicle records.
Perform routine cleaning and operator-level care of the mixer truck; report maintenance needs immediately.
