Role Mandate :-
The Chief Strategy and Sector Analysis Officer defines and leads Bridge Energy’s enterprise strategy and sector-intelligence agenda across its Upstream, Midstream, Downstream and Trading activities. Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the role converts shareholder priorities, market evidence and portfolio insight into clear strategic choices, executable initiatives and measurable enterprise value. The role provides decision support to the Board and executive leadership while ensuring strategic alignment across functions, sectors and geographies.
Accountabilities:-
- Enterprise Strategy & Direction
• Define and articulate Bridge Energy’s enterprise strategy, long-term objectives and strategic priorities across the Upstream, Midstream, Downstream and Trading value chain, in alignment with Bridge Holding’s investment mandate and shareholder value-creation agenda.
• Lead strategic planning across three- to ten-year horizons, converting strategic intent into sequenced initiatives, accountable owners, investment requirements and measurable outcomes.
• Advise the Group Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership and Board on strategic alternatives, trade-offs, organizational positioning and major enterprise decisions.
2.Sector Intelligence & Strategic Foresight
• Build and maintain an institutional sector-analysis capability covering market structure, competitive dynamics, regulation, technology, capital flows, geopolitical developments and long-term demand drivers.
• Maintain a forward view of Upstream, Midstream and Downstream energy markets, including resource development, production, transportation, processing, refining, distribution, energy transition trends and adjacent infrastructure relevant to Bridge Energy’s mandate.
• Convert market intelligence into actionable investment themes, geographic priorities, growth options, risk signals and portfolio implications.
3.Scenario Planning & Enterprise Resilience
• Develop enterprise scenarios and stress tests addressing commodity volatility, policy shifts, energy-transition pathways, demand changes, geopolitical disruption and technology-led market change.
• Assess strategic resilience, portfolio exposure and organizational readiness under alternative market conditions and recommend practical responses.
• Embed scenario-based thinking into strategy, capital planning, risk reviews and major investment decisions.
4.Portfolio Strategy & Capital Allocation
• Lead portfolio-level assessments of strategic fit, concentration, adjacency, ownership options and capital requirements.
• Partner with Investment and Finance leadership to develop capital-allocation frameworks and prioritize opportunities based on strategic relevance, risk-adjusted returns and execution feasibility.
• Provide strategic recommendations on acquisitions, divestments, partnerships, platform expansion and capital recycling.
5.Strategy Execution & Performance Governance
• Translate approved strategy into enterprise initiatives with clear governance, milestones, decision rights, performance measures and escalation pathways.
• Establish and maintain strategic dashboards, balanced scorecards and key performance indicators to track execution, benefits realization and emerging risks.
• Lead cross-functional execution across Finance, Legal, and HR, be accountable for portfolio analysis, support the GCEO in synergizing across the Upstream, Midstream, Downstream and Trading business units, and in optimizing across geographies.
6.M&A, Partnerships & Corporate Development Support
• Provide strategic leadership for target identification, market screening, strategic-fit assessment, due-diligence priorities, valuation context and post-transaction value hypotheses.
• Advise on partnership structures, market-entry models, joint ventures and strategic investments with sovereign, government, corporate and operating partners.
• Support integration and portfolio-transformation planning to ensure transactions deliver intended strategic outcomes.
7.Stakeholder Communication & External Insight
• Support the GCEO in communicating Bridge Energy’s strategy clearly to the Board, and make proposals regarding portfolio choices and forward strategy to the Energy Executive Committee led by the GCEO. Support the communication of the Energy Strategy to employees, investors and strategic partners, ensuring alignment with Bridge Holding and tailoring evidence and messaging to each audience.
• Build relationships with government entities, industry bodies, think tanks, research providers and expert networks to strengthen access to high-quality intelligence.
• Support investor materials, strategic communications and decision-ready executive presentations where required.
8.Leadership & Organizational Capability
• Build and lead a high-performing Strategy and Sector Analysis team with strong standards of intellectual rigor, commercial judgment, collaboration and execution discipline.
• Develop repeatable strategy processes, analytical frameworks, knowledge systems and governance practices that improve institutional decision quality.
• Promote strategic thinking, innovation, continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making throughout Bridge Energy.
Experience & Qualifications:-
• Executive strategy leadership: Minimum 15 years of progressively senior experience in enterprise strategy – preferably that of a reputable Oil & Gas company -, corporate development, principal investing, investment banking, strategy consulting or senior business leadership, including substantial executive responsibility.
• Sector depth: Significant experience across energy, infrastructure, utilities, renewables, natural resources, and financial institutions,, with the ability to evaluate cross-sector and macroeconomic implications.
• Enterprise impact: Demonstrated success in developing and executing organization-wide strategies with measurable commercial, portfolio or operational outcomes.
• Board and C-suite credibility: Proven ability to advise Boards, shareholders, investment committees and senior executives on high-stakes strategic choices and complex market conditions.
• Investment and transaction judgment: Strong understanding of M&A, valuation, financial modelling, portfolio strategy, capital allocation and partnership structures.
• International leadership: Experience operating across multicultural, multi-jurisdictional environments and engaging sophisticated public and private stakeholders.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline is required. An MBA, relevant master’s degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a recognized institution is strongly preferred.
• Professional qualities: High integrity, intellectual rigor, discretion, resilience, curiosity and personal accountability, with the confidence to challenge constructively and make clear recommendations.
