What you'll do
- Receive and accession cord blood units: check temperature, labels, documents and chain of custody, and apply ISBT 128 labels
- Process units in a Grade A biosafety cabinet using aseptic technique (volume reduction, red cell depletion, cryoprotectant addition)
- Collect QC samples (TNC, CD34+, viability, sterility, blood group) and keep accurate batch records
- Operate the controlled-rate freezer and manage LN2 vapour-phase storage, including daily checks and alarm response
- Retrieve, thaw and ship units for release, with QA approval and second-person verification
- Maintain cleanroom discipline, equipment checks and cleaning logs
- Support validation (IQ/OQ/PQ, media fills), audits and MOH/AABB inspections
- Follow GMP and ALCOA+ at all times, and report any deviation to QA immediately
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science
- Oman MOH professional licence.
- At least 2 years in a blood bank, transfusion, stem cell or cell culture lab
- Aseptic technique, centrifugation, cell separation and biosafety cabinet skills
- Good English and basic computer skills (eDMS/LIMS)
Nice to have
- Cord blood / HPC experience in an AABB- or FACT-accredited facility
- Grade A/B cleanroom and media fill experience
- Controlled-rate freezing, LN2 storage, ISBT 128 labelling
SBB/ASCP certification, a postgraduate qualification, or Arabic.
