A leading pharmaceutical distribution company is seeking a commercially driven and entrepreneurial Business Unit Manager to lead one of its therapeutic franchises. This is a strategic leadership role based in Lebanon
Role Description
The Business Unit Manager will have full accountability for the franchise, including strategy, sales, marketing, market development, profitability and principal management. The role will build the market for its therapeutic area beyond traditional pharmaceutical promotion by combining strong HCP engagement and commercial execution with patient-centric, digital and disease-awareness initiatives.
As Business Unit Manager, you will:
- Define and implement the franchise strategy, turning company and principal objectives into clear local priorities, KPIs and an annual business plan
- Own the P&L of the business unit, including sales forecasts, budget, margins, promotional investment and ROI on new initiatives
- Lead the commercial team and field force, making sure targeting, deployment and execution deliver the best results
- Drive integrated brand plans that address both HCP needs and the full patient journey, including disease awareness, patient activation and digital engagement
- Expand the market by addressing barriers to diagnosis, treatment initiation, persistence and access, in partnership with market access and health stakeholders
- Lead launch excellence for new products and indications, as well as lifecycle management of the existing portfolio
- Identify new products, indications and partnership opportunities, and build solid business cases for them
- Act as the primary business lead with principal companies and build trusted relationships with KOLs and key healthcare stakeholders
- Act as the central point of alignment across Sales, Marketing, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory and Finance, so that every function works toward the franchise’s objectives in full compliance with company, principal and regulatory standards
- Partner with Supply Chain on demand forecasting and product availability, anticipating supply constraints and preventing stock-outs to keep the business running without interruption
- Build, coach and retain a high-performing team with a culture of accountability, innovation and compliance

Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with significant time in commercial, marketing or business management roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, Marketing or a related field; a postgraduate degree is a plus
- 3 to 5+ years in a people leadership role, with a proven track record of managing a business unit, franchise or significant portfolio
- Experience in launching and developing innovative pharmaceutical products is an asset
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with proven experience managing budgets, forecasts and P&L
- Understanding of chronic disease markets and the patient journey, and comfort combining traditional pharma marketing with digital and patient-centric approaches
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with credibility toward principals, KOLs and cross-functional teams
- Strategic yet execution-oriented, data-driven, and entrepreneurial with a growth mindset
- Fluency in English and Arabic
