Role Description The AI Security Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls for AI systems, applications, and infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include assessing security risks, conducting threat modeling, and performing security reviews of AI pipelines, models, and related services. The AI Security Engineer will collaborate with development, data science, and operations teams to integrate security into the design and deployment of AI solutions, monitor systems for vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents. The role also involves creating security documentation, contributing to policies and standards, and staying current on emerging threats and best practices in AI and cybersecurity.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced AI Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls for AI/ML systems and applications. The role will focus on identifying and mitigating security risks associated with artificial intelligence, machine learning models, data, APIs, and AI infrastructure while ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement security controls for AI/ML platforms, applications, and infrastructure.
- Identify and assess security risks across the AI/ML lifecycle, from data preparation and model development to deployment and monitoring.
- Protect AI models, datasets, APIs, and supporting infrastructure against security threats.
- Conduct security assessments and threat modeling for AI/ML solutions.
- Monitor and investigate potential security incidents involving AI systems.
- Implement controls against AI-specific threats such as prompt injection, data poisoning, model manipulation, adversarial attacks, and data leakage.
- Secure APIs, cloud environments, containers, and services supporting AI applications.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, encryption, and access controls for AI systems.
- Work closely with Data Science, ML Engineering, Cloud, DevOps, and Cybersecurity teams to embed security throughout the AI development lifecycle.
- Support secure MLOps/DevSecOps practices and integrate security testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing of AI applications and related infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
- Support security audits and compliance requirements related to AI and information security.
- Stay up to date with emerging AI security threats, vulnerabilities, frameworks, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, AI Security, Application Security, Cloud Security, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML security principles and threat models.
- Experience securing AI/ML applications, APIs, and cloud-based environments.
- Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and common AI security risks.
- Experience with security testing, vulnerability assessment, and threat modeling.
- Good knowledge of IAM, encryption, network security, API security, and secure software development.
- Familiarity with Python and scripting for security automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Knowledge of MLOps, DevSecOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
