We are supporting a leading Abu Dhabi-based organisation in the appointment of a VP, Corporate Finance to provide strategic leadership across corporate finance, capital structure, funding strategy, project finance, financial modelling and capital allocation.
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced corporate finance professional who can shape funding strategies, optimise the Group’s capital structure and provide high-quality financial insight across major projects, investments and strategic initiatives. The role will work closely with senior leadership, Treasury, M&A, FP&A, Finance Control, subsidiaries, banks and external advisors to support long-term growth and financial resilience.
The successful candidate will bring strong experience across corporate finance, debt and funding, project finance, financial modelling and investment appraisal, ideally gained within infrastructure, energy, utilities, waste management, environmental services or another capital-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimisation of the Group’s capital structure and funding strategy, balancing leverage, liquidity, cost of capital and long-term financial objectives.
- Evaluate and support debt facilities, refinancing, funding structures and financing terms, working closely with banks, lenders and financial advisors.
- Oversee financial analysis and modelling for major projects, strategic investments, M&A and capital allocation decisions.
- Lead analysis of debt capacity, maturity profiles, covenant headroom, refinancing requirements and interest-rate exposure.
- Review and challenge complex financial models, investment cases, project finance assessments and capital structure scenarios.
- Provide senior management and Board-level recommendations on funding options, capital allocation, cost of capital and investment decisions.
- Partner with Treasury, FP&A, M&A, Finance Control and business units to align funding requirements with strategic and operational plans.
- Support due diligence and transaction processes through financial analysis, funding scenarios and capital structure assessments.
- Identify and monitor financial risks including interest rate, currency, counterparty, liquidity and refinancing risk, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Develop and oversee corporate finance reporting, dashboards and executive-level analysis covering financing, capital structure and financial risk.
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, financial institutions, advisors, rating/credit stakeholders and other financing partners.
- Lead and develop the Corporate Finance team, providing technical guidance across financial modelling, debt analysis, project finance and investment appraisal.
- Drive strong governance, controls, documentation and continuous improvement across corporate finance activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of progressive experience across corporate finance, project finance, treasury, investment, funding or related disciplines.
- Strong experience in capital structure, funding strategy, debt analysis, financial modelling, project finance and capital allocation.
- Proven experience with debt financing, refinancing, covenant analysis and banking/lender relationships.
- Strong understanding of cost of capital, investment appraisal, scenario analysis and financial risk management.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing or developing complex financial models and business cases.
- Experience supporting major infrastructure projects, strategic investments, M&A or capital-intensive businesses.
- Strong Board and senior stakeholder exposure, with the ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to executive audiences.
- Previous experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure, waste management, environmental services, transportation or another regulated/capital-intensive sector is highly desirable.
- Experience within the UAE/GCC or a government, semi-government or shareholder-led environment would be advantageous.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACT, CTP or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong leadership, commercial judgement, analytical and stakeholder management skills.
