Training OfficerSukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialised mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.
The Role
The Training Officer is responsible for ensuring that new and existing employees receive the education, training and skills development required for their roles at Sukari. The role focuses on designing, developing and implementing effective training programmes that enhance employee performance while maintaining progress tracking, quality control and compliance.
Reporting to the Learning and Development Coordinator, the role supports training needs analysis, internal and external training coordination, online learning activities, programme evaluation and continuous improvement of training systems and processes across AngloGold Ashanti's Sukari operation.

The Key Responsibilities
- * Training needs analysis: Collaborate with employees to clarify job expectations, understand site operations and conduct detailed assessments to identify skills gaps.
- Programme development: Draft instructional manuals, onboarding materials and related documentation, and develop training programmes aligned to TNA and EDP/LDP performance criteria.
- Training coordination: Manage and coordinate external training programmes, support online learning and guide departments on booking processes and training prioritisation.
- Monitoring and evaluation: Track required and ongoing training, evaluate course effectiveness, document feedback from managers and attendees, and communicate recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
- Department support and change: Support the work group through open communication, assist with workload coverage where needed, and help communicate and facilitate changes to work systems, procedures and rules.
- Continuous improvement: Develop and periodically audit training systems and processes, support departmental capability growth, and assist departments with succession planning.
- Safety: Promote a safe working environment, maintain safety standards, participate in incident investigations and workplace audits, and support improvement of safety culture through coaching and process improvement.
The Requirements
* BSc in business administration, engineering or similar.
* Certified Trainer and Assessor qualification such as Cert IV TAE or equivalent.
* At least 3 years' experience in training delivery or training coordination, preferably in mining, oil and gas.
* Previous training experience demonstrated to a high standard would be advantageous.
* Articulate and confident communicator.
* Computer literate with good MS Office skills.
* Good driving ability.
* Ability to motivate teams.
* Organised, punctual and a good listener.
* Able to build strong working relationships with a wide range of contacts.
* Completion of site ansd area-specific inductions.
