About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Inspector to provide technical and Quality Control oversight for assigned aircraft and components.
The Technical Inspector will be responsible for ensuring maintenance and repair activities are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with approved technical publications, procedures and applicable aviation requirements. The role will inspect and clear critical scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions while ensuring accurate aircraft maintenance and historical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect aircraft and components throughout removal, disassembly, assembly, installation and adjustment activities.
- Review and audit technical records to support aircraft and component airworthiness.
- Ensure maintenance actions and Work-In-Progress are accurately documented in accordance with TAMMS-(A) and approved procedures.
- Maintain accurate aircraft and component historical records, including life limits, overhaul and retirement requirements.
- Provide Quality Control oversight of aircraft modifications and maintenance activities.
- Ensure timely implementation of OEM technical bulletins, maintenance and safety messages.
- Support aircraft incidents, accidents and Product Quality Deficiency Reporting.
- Conduct facility audits and identify safety, quality and maintenance deficiencies.
- Review maintenance records and trends to identify recurring problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Verify component installations, workmanship and specified tolerances using appropriate inspection tools and equipment.
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence and status reports as required.
- Support QC activities away from base when required and act as QC Supervisor in their absence.
- Identify and report any condition that may affect personnel safety or aircraft airworthiness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance, A&P Licence, or equivalent aviation qualification. An AS/AA degree in aviation-related studies is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years' aviation maintenance experience as an A&P Mechanic or equivalent.
- Previous Technical Inspector / Quality Control experience.
- AVUM and AVIM experience preferred.
- Fixed-wing and/or rotary-wing aircraft QC experience preferred.
- Experience within military aviation maintenance environments.
- Experience with TAMMS-(A) and Army aviation maintenance documentation preferred.
- Experience with aircraft modification and associated Quality Control activities preferred.
