Prepare structural steel surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, grinding, and removing rust, ensuring the required surface condition before painting.
• Mix primers, epoxy coatings, polyurethane finishes, and thinners according to approved specifications and manufacturer instructions.
• Apply protective coatings using airless and conventional spray equipment, ensuring uniform coverage and the specified coating thickness.
• Carry out stripe coating on edges, welds, bolts, and difficult-to-reach areas, and repair coating defects or damaged surfaces.
• Clean and maintain painting equipment and follow site safety procedures, including PPE use, ventilation, and safe handling of paints and solvents.
Requirements
High school certificate or vocational training in industrial painting or a related trade preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of spray-painting experience in structural steel fabrication or erection projects.
• Proven ability to operate airless and conventional spray equipment for steel protective coatings.
• Good knowledge of steel surface preparation, epoxy and polyurethane coating systems, mixing ratios, pot life, and recoating intervals.
• Ability to follow coating specifications and use wet-film thickness gauges;
• Must have Valid QID and immediate availability are preferred.
