Job Description:
We are expanding our commercial team, and we are seeking an experienced, highly motivated Shipbroker to manage client relationships, negotiate fixtures, and drive spot and period business.
In this role, you will leverage your industry network to connect charterers and shipowners, executing seamless fixtures from initial negotiation to post fixture. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of closing deals, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Fixtures: Negotiate and conclude spot and period fixtures for Dry Bulk / Tankers / S&P sector.
- Maintain and expand relationships with shipowners, charterers, and operators.
- Monitor global shipping markets, tonnage flow, and freight rates to provide actionable intelligence to clients.
- Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities and trade routes.
- Collaborate with the operations team to resolve operational, demurrage, or documentation issues.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of active experience as a commercial Shipbroker.
- An existing, transferable network of charterers, owners, or cargo traders is highly preferred.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Deep understanding of maritime contracts such as charter Parties, shipping routes, and maritime law.
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Economics, Business, or equivalent experience and certificates from ICS are preferred but not mandatory.
