The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Senior Configuration Specialist to lead configuration management, configuration control, baseline management, configuration data quality, change coordination, configuration audits, and configuration governance across technology and operational environments.
The ideal candidate will establish and maintain accurate configuration information, ensure approved configurations are consistently implemented, identify unauthorized or inconsistent changes, and work with technical teams to strengthen configuration control and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- * Develop and implement configuration-management strategies, policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.

- Maintain accurate configuration records throughout the technology and service lifecycle.
- Manage configuration repositories, configuration databases, and related configuration-management platforms.
- Ensure configuration information remains complete, accurate, current, and traceable.
- Establish naming conventions, data standards, ownership requirements, and configuration-record controls.
- Coordinate configuration discovery and identification activities across technology environments.
- Reconcile configuration data from infrastructure, asset, cloud, monitoring, discovery, and service-management systems.
- Identify configuration-data discrepancies and coordinate remediation with relevant technical owners.
- Perform regular configuration audits to verify that actual environments match approved configuration baselines.
- Identify unauthorized, undocumented, or inconsistent configuration changes.
- Coordinate investigation and remediation of configuration deviations.
- Support change-management processes by assessing configuration impacts and dependencies.
- Ensure configuration records are updated following approved changes, releases, upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Establish controls linking configuration items to approved change records.
- Maintain relationships between configuration items, applications, services, infrastructure components, dependencies, and business owners.
- Develop and maintain configuration management databases and service configuration models.
- Support accurate representation of technical service dependencies and infrastructure relationships.
- Maintain configuration baselines for development, testing, staging, disaster-recovery, and production environments.
- Coordinate configuration synchronization across environments where appropriate.
- Support infrastructure and application teams in establishing standardized configuration templates.
- Develop and maintain approved configuration standards and technical build specifications.
- Work with cybersecurity teams to incorporate secure configuration requirements and hardening standards.
- Monitor compliance with security configuration baselines.
- Identify configuration weaknesses that may introduce security, availability, performance, or operational risks.
- Support vulnerability and patch-management teams by ensuring configuration information is accurate and complete.
- Coordinate with asset-management teams to maintain alignment between configuration and asset records.
- Support software, hardware, license, and technology lifecycle management through accurate configuration data.
- Establish configuration-control requirements for cloud infrastructure and cloud-native services.
- Support configuration governance for virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes environments, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment platforms where applicable.
- Establish controls for configuration changes made through automation and CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with DevOps and engineering teams to improve configuration consistency across automated environments.
- Support infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code practices.
