We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in construction contracting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in construction project accounting, financial monitoring, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reports, project cost reports, and financial statements.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, budgets, and financial performance.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management.
Project Accounting
- Monitor subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, and material costs.
- Track advances, retentions, and project budgets.
- Maintain accurate records of all project-related financial transactions.
- Conduct regular project cost analysis and variance reporting.
Team Leadership
- Lead and supervise junior accountants.
- Allocate tasks, review work, and ensure quality and accuracy.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Ensure timely completion of all accounting functions.
Compliance and Controls
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
Key Requirements
- Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent).
- Experience: Strong experience in construction project accounting and financial monitoring.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in preparing monthly financial reports, project cost reports, and financial statements.
- Experience monitoring subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, material costs, advances, retentions, and project budgets.
- Leadership: Ability to lead junior accountants, allocate tasks, review work, and ensure timely reporting.
- Software: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
