About The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager – Electrical Generators & Transformers to lead and manage the sales department for generators, transformers, and related electrical power solutions.
The ideal candidate must be a U.D.P.A. Certified Grade A Electrical Engineer with relevant Kahramaa certification/approval and a minimum of 15 years of experience in the electrical power sector.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of generators, transformers, electrical distribution systems, and Qatar authority requirements, along with proven experience in sales management, business development, tendering, client management, and department leadership.
Key Responsiblities:
- Lead and manage the sales department for electrical generators, transformers, and related power solutions.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market-growth targets.
- Manage wholesale sales activities for generators, transformers, and associated electrical equipment.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across government, infrastructure, construction, industrial, and commercial sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, developers, government entities, suppliers, and key clients.
- Manage key accounts and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Prepare sales forecasts, annual budgets, business plans, and departmental targets.
- Lead commercial negotiations for major projects, supply agreements, and long-term contracts.
- Review client specifications, BOQs, tender documents, technical drawings, and project requirements.
- Coordinate and review technical and commercial proposals, quotations, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Manage tender submissions, vendor registrations, prequalification, and product approval processes.
- Ensure products and technical solutions comply with project specifications, Kahramaa requirements, and applicable international standards.
- Provide technical-commercial guidance for generator and transformer selection, sizing, and application.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, procurement, logistics, finance, and project teams.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supply agreements with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and customer demand.
- Develop strategies to increase market share and expand the company's electrical power solutions business.
- Manage, guide, and evaluate sales engineers and sales executives within the department.
- Establish team KPIs and monitor departmental sales performance.
- Conduct client meetings, technical presentations, negotiations, and project discussions.
- Follow up on quotations, purchase orders, deliveries, payments, and outstanding receivables.
- Prepare regular sales and business-development reports for senior management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Must be a U.D.P.A. Certified Grade A Electrical Engineer in Qatar.
- Must hold relevant Kahramaa certification, approval, or authorization applicable to the position.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, generators, transformers, or related fields.
- Strong experience in the wholesale sales of electrical generators and transformers.
- Proven experience in a senior position such as Sales Manager, Department Manager, Business Development Manager, or Technical Sales Manager.
- Strong technical knowledge of generators, power transformers, distribution transformers, LV/MV systems, switchgear, and electrical distribution systems.
- Good understanding of generator and transformer sizing, electrical loads, and technical selection.
- Strong knowledge of Qatar electrical standards, Kahramaa requirements, and consultant approval procedures.
- Experience dealing with consultants, contractors, EPC companies, government entities, developers, and industrial clients.
- Strong experience in tenders, quotations, technical proposals, costing, and commercial negotiations.
- Proven experience managing large-value projects and key customer accounts.
- Strong knowledge of pricing, margins, sales forecasting, and profitability management.
- Strong leadership and team-management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and client-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tenders, quotations, and client requirements simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of the Qatar electrical and power solutions market.
- Valid Qatar driving licence is mandatory.
