Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect refrigerated containers during receiving, yard storage, and operational periods.
- Connect and disconnect reefer containers to/from terminal power supply as required by operating procedures.
- Monitor reefer temperature, set point, return-air temperature, supply-air temperature, alarms, and operating status.
- Identify and respond to reefer alarms, temperature deviations, power failures, and equipment faults.
- Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, electronic, and control-system problems.
- Diagnose faults involving compressors, condenser/evaporator fans, sensors, controllers, contactors, relays, evaporators, condensers, and power-supply systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on reefer units.
- Check refrigerant pressure and identify possible refrigerant leakage.
- Carry out electrical testing and component replacement as required.
- Verify reefer performance after repair before returning the unit to operational status.
- Record reefer inspection results, alarms, repairs, parts replaced, and unit status.
- Coordinate with reefer operations and yard personnel regarding container availability and access.
- Prioritize critical reefer faults involving temperature-sensitive cargo and immediately escalate unresolved issues.
- Maintain reefer maintenance tools, test equipment, and spare parts.
- Follow refrigerant-handling, electrical isolation, environmental, PPE, and terminal HSE procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant technical diploma is required.
- Minimum 2 years of Experience.
- Experience with refrigerated containers/reefer units is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical circuits, controllers, sensors, and compressors.
- Ability to diagnose both electrical and refrigeration faults.
- Experience with reefer monitoring and alarm systems is an advantage.
