Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the commercial and quantity surveying activities for electrical works on a hospital project, ensuring accurate measurement, cost control, subcontractor management, and contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quantity surveying and commercial activities for electrical works on site.
- Prepare and verify BOQ measurements, quantity take-offs, valuations, and variations.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and site conditions to identify quantity and scope changes.
- Prepare and evaluate variation orders, claims, and subcontractor payment applications.
- Measure and certify subcontractor works based on actual site progress.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, variations, and budget against approved targets.
- Coordinate with site engineers, commercial team, consultants, and subcontractors regarding quantities and commercial matters.
- Review subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement and commercial negotiations.
- Maintain proper records of measurements, valuations, variations, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in preparation of monthly progress valuations and commercial reports.
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with project contract requirements and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree Electrical Engineering,
- 5+ years of experience in electrical quantity surveying/commercial management.
- Proven site experience on hospital or healthcare projects is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, BOQ, quantity take-off, variations, claims, and subcontractor payments.
- Experience with MEP construction and hospital-specific electrical systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial procedures.
- Proficiency in Excel and quantity surveying/commercial software.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
