The QA/QC Engineer – MEP is responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring quality assurance and quality control activities for all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works associated with electrical substation projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, contract requirements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and applicable international and local standards. The role involves conducting inspections and quality audits for MEP systems, including HVAC systems, firefighting systems, plumbing networks, transformer auxiliary systems, oil handling and filtration systems, diesel generator systems, lighting, power distribution, earthing, cable containment systems, and other associated infrastructure. The QA/QC Engineer reviews material submittals, technical approvals, test reports, and shop drawings, ensuring that all materials and installations meet project requirements and approved specifications. Key responsibilities include preparing and managing Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), quality records, test reports, and commissioning documentation; coordinating inspections with consultants, clients, vendors, and project teams; monitoring installation and testing activities; and ensuring compliance with quality procedures throughout the project lifecycle. The role also includes identifying non-conformities, issuing and tracking NCRs, verifying corrective and preventive actions, conducting internal quality audits, supporting factory and site acceptance tests, and ensuring timely closure of punch-list items and quality observations. The QA/QC Engineer works closely with construction, commissioning, engineering, procurement, planning, and HSE teams to ensure seamless project execution and successful system handover. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of MEP systems, testing and commissioning procedures, international standards such as IEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and local authority requirements, along with excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Through proactive quality management, inspection control, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder coordination, the QA/QC Engineer – MEP ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, reliability, and client satisfaction.
