Role Description
This is a full-time remote Python/Django role focused on developing and maintaining web applications and digital platforms that support Portals’ clients and internal projects. The role includes designing, implementing, and optimizing backend services and APIs, integrating with front-end interfaces, and ensuring performance, reliability, and security. The team member will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to translate business requirements into technical solutions, participate in code reviews, and contribute to architecture decisions. Daily activities also involve debugging issues, writing tests, documenting features, and continuously improving existing systems based on user feedback and analytics. The role may also support the development of specialized solutions for education and government.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience building web applications with Django or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM concepts, including query optimization and schema design.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful API integration.
- Understanding of software development best practices, including version control (Git), testing, debugging, and code review processes.
- Experience with deploying and maintaining applications on cloud or server environments (e.g., Docker, CI/CD pipelines, basic Linux skills).
- Ability to analyze requirements, write clear technical documentation, and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.
- Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working on platforms for education, government, or e-commerce, or interest in digital transformation projects, is a plus.
