PMO Lead – IT Project Delivery (Remote – Global)

As GigaKOM continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced PMO Lead – IT Project Delivery to lead and mature our project management function. This role is responsible for driving delivery excellence, improving project execution standards, and leading the team members responsible for coordinating and managing client projects.
This position is ideal for a senior project delivery professional who has experience managing IT infrastructure projects, building repeatable processes, leading project teams, and creating visibility across a portfolio of active engagements.

Remote – Global
This is a remote position. Candidates must be able to maintain regular overlap with U.S. Pacific Time to support internal meetings, client coordination, project reviews, and leadership communication.
Position Overview
The PMO Lead – IT Project Delivery is responsible for leading GigaKOM’s project management function and ensuring that client projects are delivered with consistency, accountability, and quality.
This role oversees the project delivery lifecycle across multiple engagements, including project planning, scheduling, resource coordination, risk management, documentation, reporting, and client communication.
Working closely with Executive Leadership, Sales, Engineering, Field Services, Operations, and Finance, the PMO Lead will help establish and enforce project delivery standards that support successful outcomes for clients and internal teams.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in IT project management, portfolio oversight, team leadership, process development, and client-facing delivery in technical environments.
What You’ll Do
PMO Leadership & Department Development
- Lead and mature GigaKOM’s project management function
- Manage, mentor, and support Project Managers and Project Coordinators
- Establish project delivery standards, templates, workflows, and governance processes
- Develop repeatable PMO practices that improve consistency, accountability, and delivery quality
- Support onboarding and training for project management team members
- Create clear expectations for project ownership, communication, documentation, and closeout
Project Portfolio Oversight
- Maintain visibility across active projects, project health, risks, timelines, budgets, and resource needs
- Review project schedules, milestones, status updates, risk logs, and closeout documentation
- Identify project risks early and coordinate corrective action with internal teams
- Serve as an escalation point for delivery issues, client concerns, and cross-functional conflicts
- Provide leadership with clear portfolio reporting, project status, and delivery performance metrics
Project Delivery Governance
- Define and enforce project lifecycle standards from kickoff through closeout
- Improve project planning, scheduling, communication, and documentation practices
- Ensure projects are tracking to scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations
- Standardize project review cadences, internal handoffs, and reporting requirements
- Develop and maintain a PMO playbook that can scale with the organization
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Support executive-level client communication on strategic or complex projects
- Ensure clients receive consistent updates and clear communication throughout project delivery
- Partner with Project Managers to resolve client concerns and maintain customer satisfaction
- Represent the PMO in internal and external project reviews when needed
- Help ensure project teams maintain a professional, customer-focused approach
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to review project scope, RFP/RFQ requirements, and delivery feasibility
- Work with Engineering and Field Services to coordinate resources, technical requirements, and project execution
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations on project budgets, billing readiness, and project profitability
- Improve handoffs between Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Field Services, and Accounting
- Identify process gaps and drive improvements across departments
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Assess current project delivery processes and recommend improvements
- Implement structured reporting for project health, resource allocation, risk exposure, and delivery KPIs
- Track performance metrics related to project completion, budget adherence, client satisfaction, and team productivity
- Improve use of project management tools and internal systems
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, and operational excellence
Qualifications
Required
- 8+ years of project management experience in IT infrastructure, technology services, or technical delivery environments
- 3+ years of experience leading project teams, managing other PMs, or overseeing project delivery operations
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure projects, including networking, wireless, security, structured cabling, and systems deployments
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across different clients, teams, and timelines
- Strong ability to create and enforce project management processes, standards, and documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with executives, clients, engineers, project managers, and field teams
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with regular Pacific Time availability
Preferred
- PMP certification strongly preferred
- Experience supporting SLED clients, including K–12, higher education, state, and local government
- Experience with E-Rate or public sector technology projects
- Familiarity with ITIL or IT Service Management frameworks
- Experience with project management tools such as:
- Microsoft Project
- Smartsheet
- Jira
- Monday.com
- Autotask
- Similar PM or PSA platforms
- Experience building or improving a PMO function within a growing technology company
- Experience with project financials, utilization, budgets, and margin tracking
