Scope of the Role
The Landscape Design Section Head is responsible for setting the strategic vision, creative direction, and technical excellence of all landscape architecture projects within the company. This leadership role oversees multiple teams, ensures high design standards, fosters innovation, and builds strong client relationships. The position balances hands-on design leadership with business development, project oversight, and team management.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Define the creative vision and design philosophy of the landscape architecture division.
- Develop and implement design standards, processes, and quality control protocols.
- Lead the development of new business opportunities, partnerships, and client relationships.
- Supervise design direction and execution of major landscape projects.
- Oversee design quality from concept to construction, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements.
- Approve key project submissions, presentations, and design milestones.
- Manage and mentor senior and mid-level design staff, fostering professional growth and design excellence.
- Develop organizational structure, staffing plans, and resource allocation for landscape projects.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify training needs for the landscape team.
- Represent the firm at high-level client meetings, presentations, and industry events.
- Lead project pitches and client negotiations for large-scale commissions.

Coordinate closely with the architecture, urban planning, and engineering teams.

Drive innovation in sustainable, ecological, and climate-responsive landscape design.
- Encourage integration of smart landscape technologies and regenerative systems.
Job Competences
Professional Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design (Master’s preferred).
- 16–20+ years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing large-scale or iconic landscape projects.
- Professional registration (ASLA, CLARB, or local equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Experience working in international design environments or multidisciplinary firms is an asset.
