DB-El Sewedy Rail Operation Egypt (DBEE) is looking for an IT Application Project Lead to join its team in Cairo and take a key role in delivering IT applications and solutions across Egypt’s high-speed railway organization.
This is an exciting opportunity for an IT project professional who enjoys ownership, stakeholder management, technology delivery, and working in a fast-paced infrastructure environment. You will play a central role in taking applications from planning and testing through to successful go-live, while working closely with business teams, IT specialists, vendors, and project stakeholders.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager IT Projects and Applications, you will take ownership of IT project delivery from planning through implementation and go-live.
You will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with the required quality, while keeping stakeholders aligned and ensuring that systems are stable, documented, tested, and ready for successful adoption.
As the organization grows, the experience and relationships you build through project delivery will provide an excellent foundation for developing your expertise in enterprise application management and long-term IT ownership.
Your Responsibilities
- Plan and manage IT projects end-to-end, including scope definition, scheduling, risk identification, delivery planning, and stakeholder coordination.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into clear delivery plans, defined acceptance criteria, and traceable project outcomes.
- Support structured change and release management, ensuring system changes are properly planned, controlled, and introduced with minimal business disruption.
- Coordinate release and go-live activities, including deployment planning, cutover preparation, implementation coordination, and post-release follow-up.
- Support functional testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating test execution, tracking defects, and ensuring users are prepared for go-live.
- Maintain the integrity of development, test, and production environments, proactively identifying risks related to system configuration and data quality.
- Work closely with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to keep projects on track and address delays or quality concerns at an early stage.
- Maintain accurate and structured project documentation, including project plans, risk and issue logs, decision records, action trackers, and status reports throughout the delivery lifecycle.
What You Bring
- Educational background in IT, Computer Science, or a related field is welcome; demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver IT projects is equally important.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT project delivery, project coordination, or change and release management.
- Ability to independently manage project plans, risks, actions, and stakeholder communications.
- Familiarity with ITIL change management principles and structured release processes.
- Experience working with enterprise applications and coordinating deliveries involving multiple vendors and internal teams.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, with a structured and methodical approach to project delivery.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to keep diverse stakeholders aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or ITIL 4 Foundation certifications are an advantage.
- Arabic is required, with strong professional English communication skills.
- Comfortable working on-site and during occasional off-hours cutovers when required.
