GENERAL MANAGER – REAL ESTATE

Position Overview
A diversified investment group is seeking a senior, commercially driven General Manager to lead and grow its Real Estate Business in Qatar.
The business has a diversified portfolio comprising commercial properties, office assets, warehouses, accommodation assets and other real estate investments, with potential for further acquisitions and developments.
The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the commercial performance, operations, asset optimisation, leasing, tenant relationships and financial performance of the real estate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy and operations of the Real Estate Business.
- Take full ownership of the portfolio's P&L, budgeting, revenue, EBITDA and cash flow.
- Drive occupancy, rental income and asset-level profitability.
- Develop and execute leasing strategies, including rental negotiations, renewals and tenant management.
- Identify opportunities to improve the performance and value of existing assets.
- Oversee property operations, maintenance, contractors and service providers.
- Evaluate opportunities for redevelopment, repositioning, alternative use and value creation.
- Assess potential real estate investments and development opportunities.
- Develop strong relationships with major tenants, investors, contractors and other stakeholders.
- Build, manage and develop a high-performing real estate team.
- Establish and implement a 3–5 year strategy for the Real Estate Business.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a real estate business leader rather than a conventional property or facilities manager.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10+ years of relevant real estate experience, with significant senior management responsibility.
- Proven experience managing a diversified real estate portfolio.
- Strong exposure to commercial and/or industrial real estate, including warehouses and accommodation assets.
- Demonstrated ownership of P&L, budgeting, revenue, EBITDA and cash flow.
- Strong track record in leasing, occupancy improvement, rental negotiations and tenant management.
- Experience in asset optimisation and improving returns from existing properties.
- Strong commercial, financial and analytical capabilities.
- Experience managing property operations, maintenance, contractors and external service providers.
- Ability to identify and execute value-creation opportunities across a real estate portfolio.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- A hands-on leadership style combined with strategic thinking.
Preferred Market Experience
- Qatar / GCC real estate experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with a family-owned investment group, diversified property company, private investment group or similar organisation would be advantageous.
- Experience across multiple real estate asset classes would be highly valued.
