Position Overview:
We are seeking a Functional Product Owner to translate market realities, reseller needs, and business opportunities into a clear product vision in alignment with the management team: defining what gets built, why, and when, and ensuring every decision on the roadmap is grounded in real market requirements rather than internal assumption.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Product Vision & Strategy
· Execute the long-term vision for the BPS platform, aligned with company growth objectives.
· Implement a prioritized product roadmap, balancing quick wins with strategic initiatives.
· Continuously evaluate the competitive landscape and market trends in B2B reseller platforms to inform product direction.
Ø Requirements & Backlog Management
· Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal stakeholders (sales, operations, finance, customer success) to gather, assess, and prioritize product requirements.
· Translate business needs into clear, detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
· Own and groom the product backlog, ensuring the development team always has a well-defined, prioritized queue of work.
Ø Documentation & Knowledge Management
· Own all product documentation end-to-end, from initial discovery through to post-launch — including PRDs, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and release notes.
· Maintain a single source of truth for the platform: ensure all features, workflows, business rules, and integrations are documented, up to date, and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
· Manage the documentation for current platform capabilities and known gaps as a baseline, then keep documentation evolving in lockstep with every new development cycle.
· Produce clear handover and onboarding documentation so that no critical knowledge remains siloed with any single individual.
· Collaborate with the development team to ensure technical decisions and architecture choices are captured in a way that is understandable to non-technical stakeholders.
Ø Delivery & Execution
· Partner closely with the developers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are fully understood and delivered.
· Own the full delivery cycle — from defining the requirement to closing the task — ensuring nothing falls through the cracks and every feature reaches completion.
· Set clear deadlines for all product initiatives and hold the team accountable to them, escalating proactively when timelines are at risk.
· Maintain a live product roadmap that reflects current priorities, upcoming milestones, and longer-term directions visible and accessible to all stakeholders.
· Remove blockers and make fast, informed trade-off decisions to keep delivery on track.
· Define and track KPIs for platform performance, feature adoption, and user satisfaction.
Ø Stakeholder Management
· Facilitate alignment across departments by running regular product reviews, sprint demos, and roadmap sessions.
· Communicate product priorities, progress, and decisions clearly and proactively to leadership and relevant teams.
· Gather and synthesize feedback from reseller users to ensure the platform delivers genuine value to its audience.
Key Competencies:
Intake & operations
· Request intake & routing — capture, score, and route requests from internal teams, resellers, and the feature pipeline into the backlog.
· Support & bug triage — handle internal & reseller support tickets against SLAs; log, severity-rate, and slot bugs into sprints as per severity/priority.
· Incident response & escalation — triage major outages, run stakeholder communication, and lead post-analyses.
Discovery & planning
· Discovery & validation — test demand through user research, reseller feedback, and prototypes before committing to build.
· Roadmap & delivery planning — own the roadmap; run backlog grooming, sprint planning, scope, dependency, and risk management.
Build & release
· Acceptance & quality gates — Definition of Ready / Definition of Done and UAT sign-off before release.
· Integration & API change management — versioning, deprecation notices, and partner communication.
· Release & rollout — go/no-go, release notes, feature flagging, phased rollout, and rollback.
Measurement & governance
· Outcome measurement & reporting — post-launch benefit reviews plus ongoing adoption, performance, and satisfaction KPIs.
· Product documentation — maintain a single source of truth (PRDs, specs, release notes), current each cycle.
Qualifications:
· 1+ years in a Product Owner or functional consultant role.
· Proven track record of owning a product end-to-end in a fast-paced scale-up environment.
· Strong ability to write crisp, developer-ready user stories and functional specifications.
· Experience managing and prioritizing a product backlog.
· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
· Commercially minded — able to link product decisions to business outcomes.
