Role Description The Chef De Partie is a full-time, on-site role located in Jeddah, responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and cooking menu items, maintaining portion and quality control, and coordinating with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth service. The role involves supervising commis chefs in the assigned section, monitoring food safety and hygiene practices, and supporting stock control, including ordering and proper storage of ingredients. The Chef De Partie will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to implement recipes, contribute ideas for new dishes, and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating within a designated kitchen section.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to supervise and train junior kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and support team coordination.
- Experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in restaurants or bakeries with high-volume service.
- Capability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks during busy service periods.
- Basic understanding of inventory management, portion control, and minimizing food waste.
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative attitude when working with kitchen and front-of-house teams.
- Willingness to follow established recipes while also contributing creative ideas aligned with the restaurant’s concept.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays according to restaurant needs.
- Culinary training or certification is an advantage; previous experience as a Chef De Partie or Demi Chef De Partie is preferred.
