Role Description The Account Payable Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt, responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function and ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role includes supervising the accounts payable team, reviewing and approving invoices, monitoring payment schedules, and resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders. The supervisor will prepare and review accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations to support monthly and annual closing activities. Daily tasks also involve maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards, improving processes and controls, and providing regular reports and analysis to finance leadership. The role requires close collaboration with procurement, operations, and other departments to support business needs and maintain strong financial discipline.
Qualifications
- * Supervisory Skills: Ability to lead, mentor, and manage an accounts payable team, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance.
- Analytical Skills: Strong capability to analyze financial data, identify variances, resolve discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
- Finance: Solid understanding of financial principles, accounts payable processes, vendor management, and internal controls.
- Accruals and Journal Entries (Accounting): Proficiency in preparing, reviewing, and posting accruals and journal entries in accordance with accounting standards.
- Relevant education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; previous experience in accounts payable and supervisory roles.
- Technical skills: Experience with ERP/accounting systems, proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office applications.
- Communication and organization: Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of local regulations: Familiarity with Egyptian accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements is an advantage.
