Role Description
The Visitor Learning Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Dialogue in the Dark in Cairo, Egypt. This role is responsible for welcoming visitors, supporting their orientation, and guiding them through learning activities before and after the immersive experience. The Visitor Learning Officer facilitates interactive sessions, explains key concepts, and helps visitors reflect on what they learned, ensuring each visit is safe, engaging, and educational. Daily tasks include coordinating with guides and operations staff, preparing learning materials and spaces, managing visitor flow, and responding to questions or concerns. The role also contributes to improving educational content, collecting visitor feedback, and assisting with group bookings such as school trips and corporate visits.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills to engage diverse visitor groups, including children, adults, and corporate teams.
- Experience in education, museum learning, training, or visitor services, with the ability to design or deliver interactive learning activities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity, with a focus on inclusion and accessibility.
- Organizational and time-management abilities to handle schedules, group bookings, and visitor flow in a busy on-site environment.
- Fluency in Arabic and good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Comfort working in unique sensory settings and supporting visitors through unfamiliar experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Humanities, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in customer-facing roles, museums, cultural centers, or educational programs is beneficial.
