Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Team Lead to lead our Data Engineering team and drive the delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-quality data platforms and data warehouse solutions for our customers.
The role combines hands-on data engineering expertise with team leadership, customer engagement, and technical ownership. The Data Engineering Team Lead will work closely with customers, Data Architects, BI teams, and project teams to design and implement modern data platforms, primarily using Microsoft Fabric.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Data Engineers.
- Manage Data Engineering priorities, workload, and delivery across customer projects.
- Engage with customers to understand data requirements, source systems, integration needs, and business objectives.
- Lead the design and implementation of data warehouses, lakehouses, and medallion architectures using Microsoft Fabric.
- Design and oversee data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, transformation processes, and data integration.
- Establish and enforce Data Engineering development, coding, testing, and documentation standards.
- Conduct solution and code reviews and ensure data quality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Work closely with Data Architects and BI teams to define data models and analytical datasets.
- Ensure solutions follow appropriate security, governance, monitoring, and data quality standards.
- Lead Data Engineering technical delivery from source-system integration through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering, and Data Warehousing.
- Previous experience as a Data Engineering Lead, Technical Lead, or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Pipelines, and OneLake.
- Strong experience with SQL, PySpark, ETL/ELT, and data integration.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, and Delta Lake.
- Experience with Azure Data Services, APIs, databases, ERP/CRM systems, and other enterprise data sources is an advantage.
- Experience delivering data solutions in customer-facing or consulting environments is preferred.
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead technical Data Engineering delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
