The engagement
Please read this part first. It is the part people ask about last, and we would rather you know it now.
- Contract type: a six-month service contract. This is not a permanent employment position.
- Renewal: renewable after six months, subject to performance and at the company's discretion. We will tell you in writing, a month before the term ends, whether it will be renewed.
- Location: on-site at our Beirut office.
- Start: as soon as possible.
This role suits someone who likes defined, project-shaped work: an independent contractor, a consultant between engagements, or an engineer who wants six months of real ownership on a regulated platform.
About Fundbot
Fundbot is a supply chain finance platform connecting financial institutions, buyers and suppliers across MENA and beyond. We run a regulated B2B fintech platform, with cloud SaaS deployments and on-premises setups for bank clients.
What the six months are for
You will own Fundbot's infrastructure, deployments, and reliability for the term, against a set of concrete deliverables agreed on day one. The work in scope:
- Bring up and hand over an on-premises Kubernetes deployment for a bank client, working with the client's IT team under their change control.
- Tidy and extend our Terraform across multiple AWS accounts and per-client environments.
- Make monitoring and alerting trustworthy on the Grafana stack (Prometheus, Loki): real SLOs, alerts that mean something, runbooks for each.
- Support bank security reviews and due diligence with evidence and documentation.
You will also run production day-to-day across AWS (EKS, ECS) and client-hosted clusters, with GitHub Actions, secrets, TLS and edge controls (AWS Secrets Manager, Cloudflare), Keycloak, and the platform services behind the product (Redis, NATS, Temporal, MySQL and PostgreSQL). You take part in on-call and lead root-cause analysis when something breaks.
Everything you build is documented well enough that someone else can run it after you. Handover is part of the job, not an afterthought.
What you bring
- At least 3 to 4 years in DevOps, platform or SRE work, with real ownership of production systems.
- Strong AWS: VPC, IAM, EKS or ECS, RDS, ALB, Secrets Manager.
- Solid Kubernetes, including operating and upgrading clusters, not only deploying to them. Self-managed or on-premises clusters are a strong advantage.
- Terraform with modules, remote state, and multi-environment workflows.
- CI/CD with GitHub Actions or equivalent, using container-based deploys.
- Good scripting (Bash, Python) and software engineering fundamentals. You can read and contribute to application code.
- Working knowledge of networking, Linux, and security practice.
- Clear written communication and the habit of writing things down.
Nice to have
- Contract or consulting experience, where you delivered a scoped piece of work and handed it over.
- Regulated fintech or banking, or client-hosted deployments.
- TypeScript and Node.js (our stack is NestJS and Nuxt).
- Cloudflare, Keycloak, Temporal, or the Grafana observability stack.
- Comfort working with client IT teams over VPN or restricted access.
To apply
Submit your CV and a few lines answering these three questions:
- This is a six-month, on-site service contract in Beirut. Does that work for you as it stands? If not, what would need to be different?
- What are you doing now, and why does a six-month engagement suit you at this point?
- How soon could you start?
