Job purpose:
The Design Manager is responsible for working seamlessly with the Head of Branding and Design. They will support the design team to ensure that all graphic design outputs are completed in the most professional, effective, efficient and creative manner.
The award-winning design team creates and maintains our marketing and promotional assets which support all departments our offices in Saudi, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, UAE and Oman. From concept through to execution, the team promote the KPMG Middle East brand and bring it to life, keeping it consistent with the Global firm across all touch points. The team leverage their creative and technical skills to produce best-in-class marketing materials, enhance our clients’ experience of our brand, create brand consistency, and get specific business results.
Major duties and responsibilities
- Collaborate with the wider marketing team and internal clients to support the production of all graphic design outputs (advertising, brochures, website graphics, infographics, promotional collateral, thought leadership, proposals, social media assets and events).
- Support the Markets strategic objectives by working efficiently, reducing costs without compromising quality
- Ensure consistency and integrity behind our company’s brand strategy and brand guidelines – using our messaging, tone of voice and visual identity throughout all we do.
- Bring innovative design ideas, best practice examples and cutting-edge design practices to support all promotional requirements eg proposals, client reports and promotional collateral.
- Schedule and manage the work outputs of the graphic design team members.
- Manage other design needs such as presentations, signage, and conferencing/events collateral, as needed.
- Manage, motivate and coach the graphic design team.
- Leverage best practices from across the firm’s global network and showcase “best of brand” outputs from the Lower Gulf firm
- Lead training and development with the LG firm in relation to brand and design management requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships eg printers, photographers etc.
Education requirements:
- Qualified to bachelor’s degree level – in Graphic Design/ Visual Commination’s or Fine Art.
Work experience requirements:
- 10+ years post-qualification experience.
Knowledge / Technical Skills:
- Ability to lead a team and motivate others
- Very strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple work-streams
- Ability to develop working relationships with all levels ie most senior to junior people
- Excellent creative skills and experience of working with designers and copywriters
- Ability to influence/challenge senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage, motivate and coach team members
- Brand ambassador, understand and execute the brand strategy firmwide
- Proven ability to network and leverage that network to achieve successful outcomes
- Ability to work under pressure with challenging deadlines, multiple stakeholders and opinions
- Ability to set and meet tight deadlines and manage workload whilst having strong levels of attention to detail
