We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Engineer to support the technical planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. The role will be responsible for reviewing project drawings and specifications, preparing technical submissions, coordinating consultant approvals, resolving site technical issues, and ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved documents, authority requirements, quality standards, and project timelines
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, project specifications, BOQs, and contract documents
- Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings, coordination drawings, bar bending schedules, and as-built drawings as required.
- Prepare and submit material submittals, method statements, technical data sheets, samples, ITPs, and related technical documents for consultant approval.
- Raise, track, and close RFIs, technical queries, NCRs, consultant comments, and design clarifications.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, QA/QC teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and procurement teams to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Provide technical support and clarification to site teams to ensure work is executed according to the latest approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor all drawing revisions and maintain updated registers for drawings, submittals, RFIs, approvals, correspondence, and technical records.
- Follow up with consultants and relevant authorities for approvals of drawings, materials, method statements, and other submissions.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes, authority requirements, QA/QC procedures, and health and safety standards
- Assist with quantity take-offs, material requirements, BOQs, variations, and technical evaluations when required.
- Participate in site inspections, consultant meetings, technical coordination meetings, snagging, de-snagging, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Identify design clashes, constructability concerns, and potential site issues early; propose practical technical solutions to avoid delays and rework.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and other documentation required by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Technical Engineer, Technical Office Engineer, Project Engineer, or Site Engineer within a construction contractor environment.
- Experience in residential, commercial, villa, high-rise, or mixed-use construction projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, BOQs, shop drawings, materials, and construction methods.
- Proven experience preparing and following up technical submittals, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and consultant approvals.
- Good understanding of UAE authority requirements and construction documentation standards; familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, DEWA, or other relevant authorities is an advantage.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and document-control systems; knowledge of BIM/Revit is an advantage.
- Strong coordination, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work under pressure, manage several submissions and site priorities, and meet project deadlines.
