About the Role
We are seeking a talented and driven Steel Structure Design Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will specialize in the structural design, analysis, and detailing of Electric Houses (E-Houses), modular substations, and heavy-duty industrial skids.
You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and project management teams to ensure that our modular electrical buildings meet rigorous international standards for structural integrity, transportability, lifting dynamics, and environmental durability.
Key Responsibilities Structural Design & Analysis: Perform structural calculations, load assessments, and finite element analysis (FEA) for E-House structural steel framing, base skids, roof structures, and support bases using industry-standard software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or SAP2000). * Detailed Engineering & Drawings: Produce and review comprehensive structural fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using AutoCAD and Tekla Structures or equivalent detailing tools. * Lifting & Transportation Analysis: Design lifting lugs, lifting beams, and rigging arrangements, performing center-of-gravity (CG) and dynamic hoisting/transportation G-force calculations for modular transport via trailers and cranes. * Code & Standard Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant international codes and standards (such as AISC, Eurocodes, ASCE, or BS) and project-specific client specifications. * Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate closely with the electrical design team to integrate cable trays, HVAC units, switchgear loads, transformer weights, and door/penetration cutouts into the structural framework. * Shop & Site Support:* Review vendor submittals, collaborate with the manufacturing shop floor during fabrication, and resolve any structural site or shop queries.
Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil / mechanical engineering. * Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven experience in structural steel design, preferably within the industrial sector, modular construction, oil & gas skids, or E-House/substation manufacturing. * Software Proficiency: * Structural Analysis: STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or ETABS. * Detailing / Drafting: Tekla Structures (or Advance Steel). * Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel profiles, connection design (bolted and welded), plate sizing, and dynamic/seismic load considerations. * Soft Skills:* Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
