Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Technical Engineer to support our projects in the Dammam region. The role is responsible for reviewing and coordinating mechanical designs, specifications, drawings, and BIM models to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, quality standards, and client expectations.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, resolve engineering challenges, and drive effective multidisciplinary coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the review and validation of mechanical designs, engineering calculations, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Develop, review, and approve detailed design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, technical reports, and engineering deliverables.
- Coordinate closely with the BIM team to ensure timely model updates, clash resolution, and multidisciplinary integration.
- Review and approve designs prepared by third parties, ensuring compatibility with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, where applicable.
- Lead the preparation and timely issuance of IFP/IFF (Issued for Production/Fabrication), shop drawings, and SFC (Issued for Construction) drawings in line with project schedules and deliverable requirements.
- Perform engineering calculations, technical assessments, and design reviews to ensure the integrity, functionality, and constructability of mechanical systems.
- Provide technical support to site and construction teams, conducting site visits and resolving engineering and execution-related challenges.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, procurement teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and integrated delivery.
- Prepare technical scopes and bid packages for materials and subcontractors, review engineering aspects of prequalification documents and material submissions, and support procurement activities as required.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to quality, safety, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Identify and propose value engineering opportunities during the execution stage to optimize project cost, efficiency, and performance.
- Manage engineering activities across multiple projects and act as the primary technical focal point during meetings, reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
- Mentor and guide Junior Technical Engineers, promoting technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
- Maintain accurate engineering records, documentation, and project correspondence in accordance with company and project requirements.
Qualifications and skills requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering and MEP coordination within industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination processes.
- Good understanding of Saudi regulations and international standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA.
- Strong technical review, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
