Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise the installation of mechanical systems on-site, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection.
- Ensure all mechanical works are executed in compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local building codes).
- Perform site inspections to ensure mechanical installations meet quality and safety standards.
- Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and consultants to address technical issues and ensure smooth execution of works.
- Review and approve subcontractor shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals to ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Monitor and control site progress to ensure timely completion of mechanical installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Provide technical support during site meetings, ensuring alignment between mechanical installations and other disciplines.
- Ensure all mechanical installations are tested, commissioned, and fully operational before project handover.
- Support and participate in the preparation of daily and weekly reports regarding mechanical site activities, progress, and issues.
- Liaise with relevant authorities to ensure compliance with all local codes, permits, and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the mechanical installation process.
Required qualifications and years of experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 3 to 6 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare-specific mechanical systems, including HVAC, medical gas systems, fire protection, and plumbing.
- Experience in supervising mechanical installations and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and local regulations.
- Proficient in reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
- Familiarity with mechanical system testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
- Ability to manage site activities effectively, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and resolve issues quickly.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and their application in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working under FIDIC or other standard contract forms is a plus.
- UAE driving license is an advantage
