Service Engineer – Industrial Weighing Systems
Location: Hybrid: Saudi Arabia/ Jordan
Sweidan Industrial Services is looking for a hands-on and technically capable Service Engineer to join our team.
The role will initially focus on belt scale and industrial weighing systems, covering installation, commissioning, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer technical support. The successful candidate will receive product-specific technical training and progressively develop into an independent local technical resource supporting customers across Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain belt scale and industrial weighing systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, load-cell, and weighing accuracy issues.
- Install and commission belt scales, load cells, speed sensors, controllers, and associated equipment.
- Perform zero/span calibration, accuracy verification, and system testing.
- Troubleshoot 24 VDC circuits, digital/analog signals, 4–20 mA signals, and PLC/DCS interfaces.
- Replace defective components and recommission equipment.
- Provide on-site technical support and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers.
- Prepare professional service and calibration reports.
- Identify spare-parts, preventive maintenance, upgrade, and modernization requirements.
- Support the technical development of the company's installed base and service activities in Saudi Arabia.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial field-service experience preferred.
- Practical experience with belt scales, industrial weighing systems, conveyors, load cells, or bulk-material handling equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with basic to intermediate electrical and instrumentation knowledge.
- Understanding of load cells, weighing principles, analog/digital signals, and 4–20 mA instrumentation.
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and use standard field-service test equipment.
- Experience with PLC/DCS interfaces and industrial communication systems is an advantage.
- Experience in cement, mining, steel, fertilizer, petrochemical, or other heavy industries is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of English; Arabic is preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout Saudi Arabia.
