AI Engineer/Developer, Computer Vision

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an AI Engineer, Computer Vision, located in Mansourieh, Lebanon.
The AI Engineer will work on the research, development, optimization, and integration of AI and Machine Learning solutions for VITA Detection’s imaging and software platforms. The role focuses on computer vision applications such as object detection, image classification, segmentation, anomaly detection, image preprocessing, dataset preparation, and model optimization.
The selected candidate will also support the integration of AI models into production systems, test model performance across different environments, and work closely with AI engineers, software developers, QA teams, and product stakeholders to improve the reliability and accuracy of AI-driven components.
This position may require short-term international travel to other VITA offices when needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Junior candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong Python programming skills
- Solid understanding of Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts
- Hands-on academic, project-based, internship, or professional experience with computer vision tasks such as object detection, classification, segmentation, or anomaly detection
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Strong knowledge of image processing using OpenCV, NumPy, and related libraries
- Experience preparing datasets for training, validation, and testing
- Ability to evaluate model performance using relevant metrics
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows
- Experience with YOLO, Faster R-CNN, SSD, DETR, U-Net, Mask R-CNN, DeepLab, ONNX, TensorRT, quantization, GPU acceleration, MLOps, or model versioning is a plus
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and an ownership mindset
