Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support the Design and Engineering Department through the development, review, verification, and coordination of engineering design deliverables. The role will involve design calculations, stress analysis, lifting and handling studies, design document control, and coordination with clients, consultants, classification societies, third-party agencies, and design subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Design Requests, Design Input Documents, and Design Change Notes for in-house and subcontracted design activities.
- Review Design & Development documents prepared in-house, by design subcontractors, or by customers before submission for approval or construction.
- Prepare design verification, input review, and output review documents as required for projects.
- Establish and maintain effective communication between customers, Project Managers, and design subcontractors on design and development matters.
- Maintain Design & Development document control sheets and ensure design documentation is properly tracked and updated.
- Perform engineering design calculations and stress analysis as required for project requirements.
- Perform yard handling and lifting studies to support safe and effective project execution.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, classification societies, and third-party agencies on design and engineering matters.
- Coordinate with relevant internal departments to ensure design deliverables support project execution requirements.
- Review and resolve design-related technical issues and coordinate necessary clarifications with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure design activities and deliverables comply with applicable project specifications, standards, procedures, and client requirements.
- Support the successful completion of projects by providing timely engineering inputs and technical support.
- Carry out other engineering tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Engineering Manager or line management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering design experience, with 12–15 years preferred.
- Hands-on experience in engineering design and development activities within Oil & Gas, EPC, fabrication, marine, or heavy engineering environments is preferred.
- Strong experience in engineering calculations, design verification, design reviews, and technical documentation.
- Experience in stress analysis and yard handling/lifting studies.
- Experience coordinating with clients, consultants, classification societies, third-party agencies, and design subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of engineering design processes, project specifications, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and engineering design software.
