eMagine Solutions is supporting a high-growth FinTech client to hire a Senior .NET Engineer to build and optimise the backend services powering real-time trading. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving hard problems around concurrency, performance, reliability, and production observability.
You’ll join an Agile squad and work closely with product and engineering peers to deliver scalable, secure microservices that perform under heavy load and remain transparent in production through strong telemetry and monitoring.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and evolve .NET Core microservices used in real-time trading workflows
- Design for high concurrency using async programming and multi-threading, with a strong focus on thread safety
- Implement event-driven patterns using Kafka, AWS SQS, RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies
- Optimise services for low-latency and high-throughput workloads
- Improve resilience and fault tolerance across distributed components
- Contribute to modern architecture approaches including Clean Architecture, Vertical Slice Architecture and CQRS
- Translate trading and financial requirements into robust technical solutions
- Maintain quality through TDD, code reviews, and strong automated testing (unit, integration, performance)
- Implement OpenTelemetry for tracing, metrics and logs
- Build and maintain dashboards and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana and Kibana to ensure actionable insight in production
- Participate fully in Scrum ceremonies and Agile delivery practices
What eMagine Solutions is looking for
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong C# and .NET Core expertise
- Deep experience with multi-threading, async patterns, and concurrency in distributed systems
- Proven delivery of domain-driven microservices and strong understanding of service boundaries
- Strong knowledge of event-driven systems and messaging frameworks (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ)
- Practical experience with observability tooling: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic/Kibana
- CI/CD experience plus containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
- Strong Git and version control best practices
- Comfortable working in Scrum-based Agile teams
Nice to have
- Experience with Saga patterns for distributed transactions
- Experience in trading or financial systems, especially low-latency environments
- SQL Server performance tuning and database optimisation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Relevant certifications in software development, architecture, or AWS are beneficial
