What will you do?As a Senior Software Developer at Schneider Electric, you will architect and develop sophisticated applications that meet user requirements and enhance operational efficiency. You will work directly with customers to understand their requirements, then take ownership of the solution from end to end: architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and handover.
You will work as part of a global, cross-functional team, collaborating with colleagues around the world to resolve complex issues. You will implement advanced features, conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high-quality standards, and maintain comprehensive documentation for application architecture, functionality, and processes. Your mission is to deliver robust, user-centric applications that drive organizational success.
As a specialized technical expert in application engineering, you focus on the delivery and implementation of advanced software solutions. You will leverage your expertise to identify challenges, conduct research, and develop cutting-edge applications that address complex technical issues, applying broader technical knowledge to deliver results that directly impact your job area.
You will make decisions regarding your work and priorities, often guided by precedent or documented procedures with some interpretation. You will guide and review the work of other professionals, offering direction on non-routine or escalated issues, and work independently in adherence to policies, quality, and compliance standards, with your work reviewed as needed. Your work directly impacts business operations by providing innovative software solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Meet with customers and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and clarify business and technical requirements.
- Architect complete software solutions from A to Z, including the choice of programming languages, databases, frameworks, and cloud platforms.
- Architect scalable, secure, and user-centric solutions on cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Implement advanced application features alongside team members, delivering high-quality, maintainable code.
- Conduct thorough code reviews to uphold coding standards and quality.
- Test, deploy, and release solutions, ensuring reliability, performance, and data quality.
- Lead handover meetings, ensuring customers and support teams are fully equipped to use and maintain the delivered solution.
- Deliver sprint outputs on time, applying Agile methodologies to ensure iterative development and continuous value.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and globally distributed teams to resolve complex issues and deliver end-to-end solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
- Guide and review the work of other engineers, and provide direction on non-routine or escalated issues.
- Act as a team leader, coordinating the team's work and helping ensure the growth and development of junior engineers through mentoring, coaching, and constructive feedback.
- Identify technical challenges, conduct research, and develop cutting-edge applications to address complex technical problems.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for application architecture, functionality, and processes.
- Act as a technical problem-solver, proposing optimizations and enhancements that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Follow company policies, procedures, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineer or Computer Science.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering or application development.
- Strong software engineering expertise, with the ability to architect complete software solutions, including programming languages, databases, and system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and how work flows in software companies, from requirements and architecture through development, testing, release, and support.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, sprint planning, and iterative delivery).
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into logical technical solutions.
- Experience with version control, code reviews, and testing practices.
- Ability to lead a team and to guide, mentor, and review the work of other engineers, supporting the development of junior team members.
- Basic commercial and operational experience, with an understanding of how software solutions support business goals, customer needs, and day-to-day operations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural, international teams.
- Ability to make sound decisions on work and priorities, manage time, meet sprint deadlines, and work independently with work reviewed as needed.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Motivated, eager to learn, and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
