We are looking for you as early as possible as Senior Planning & Scheduling Engineer for DB-El Sewedy Railway Operation Egypt for the primary location Cairo.
The role:
Reporting directly to the Project Management Lead, The Senior Planning & Scheduling Engineer plays a critical role in integrating project planning, scheduling, and PMO governance to support the successful delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. The role bridges operational project execution with structured PMO practices, ensuring that baseline schedules, progress tracking, and reporting are aligned with project objectives and management expectations. You will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure transparency, control, and proactive decision-making across all project phases.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and control detailed project schedules (including baseline and updates)
- Monitor project progress and identify deviations from schedule and milestones
- Prepare and deliver regular project reports, dashboards, and progress updates
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of PMO governance frameworks and standards
- Ensure alignment between project planning, execution, and strategic objectives
- Coordinate with stakeholders to validate schedules, assumptions, and progress data
- Conduct schedule analysis, delay analysis, and scenario planning (e.g. recovery plans)
- Support portfolio-level planning and consolidation of project timelines where required
- Standardize planning and reporting processes across projects to ensure consistency
- Identify risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies and propose mitigation actions
Your profile/ qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in project planning, scheduling, or PMO roles
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects (railway experience is a strong advantage)
- Strong expertise in project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- Experience in project reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking
- Understanding of PMO frameworks, governance, and structured project methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project data
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent skills in English and Arabic
- PMP certification (or in progress) is a plus
