We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Production Engineer to join TEPCO Group’s MV Panel Assembly team. The role is responsible for supervising mechanical production activities, ensuring efficient assembly processes, meeting production schedules, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Manager in achieving production targets and operational goals.
- Supervise and manage the mechanical production team, ensuring effective task allocation, motivation, and development of team members.
- Oversee the mechanical assembly of Medium Voltage (MV) electrical panels and switchgear, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and production standards.
- Review and execute production schedules to ensure orders are completed on time and according to the required specifications.
- Monitor and control the production process, manpower utilization, tools, equipment, and production facilities.
- Ensure that production activities are carried out in accordance with quality, safety, and manufacturing standards.
- Coordinate with Design, Quality, Procurement, and Testing teams to resolve production issues and ensure smooth workflow.
- Review mechanical drawings and assembly requirements and ensure proper execution on the shop floor.
- Identify and resolve production problems, delays, and technical issues to maximize productivity and product reliability.
- Implement quality control objectives and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize defects, rework, and production costs.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Monitor production performance and prepare relevant reports and updates for management.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, work instructions, and applicable IEC standards and HSE requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in production/manufacturing, preferably in electrical panel manufacturing, MV/LV switchgear assembly, or a similar industrial field.
- Practical experience in mechanical assembly and production processes.
- Good understanding of mechanical drawings, manufacturing processes, and production workflows.
- Awareness and practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Well-organized with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
- Good command of English.
- Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is an advantage.
