My client is iGaming content provider of products for sportsbook and casino operators worldwide, is looking for a Senior Java Back End developer, to work remote in Europe, in a B2B contract.
Role Overview
The Back-End Developer will be responsible for develop and maintain scalable Java backend services and APIs supporting the platform. Drive technical solutions, mentor team members, and actively contribute to team goals.
Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience with Java, Spring, Springboot and Microservices
- 2+ years of experience within the iGaming industry
- 2+ years of experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Ideal candidates will have sportsbook, PAM, wallet, payments, or wider iGaming platform experience.
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Kubernetes and AWS
- Experience with AI coding assistants and agentic development workflows
Key Responsibilities
- Build greenfield backend services in modern Java for a high-scale PAM platform handling real-money transactions.
- Develop core services for player wallets, ledgers, payments, bonuses, and account lifecycle management.
- Design REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Kafka or similar messaging technologies.
- Deliver highly reliable systems with idempotency, strong test coverage, transaction integrity, and resilient error handling.
- Implement KYC/AML, responsible gaming, and audit-trail requirements.
- Build production-ready services with metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, and alerting; participate in on-call.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, RFCs, code reviews, and technical design alongside Principal Engineers.
- Use AI-assisted development tools as part of the engineering workflow.
- Support third-party platform migration, including parity testing, data validation, and production cutover.
