Role Description The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for overseeing cost accounting activities, including cost analysis, cost allocation, and the preparation of cost reports to support decision-making. The role includes monitoring production and service costs, analyzing variances, and recommending actions to improve profitability and efficiency. Daily tasks involve reviewing and posting journal entries, supporting monthly and annual closing, reconciling cost accounts, and collaborating with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate cost data. The Senior Cost Accountant will also contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls related to cost management, while providing insights to management through detailed analyses. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Giza.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Cost Accounting skills, including cost analysis, cost allocation, and variance analysis.
- Candidates should possess solid Finance and Financial Statements skills, with experience in preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial reports.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Journal Entries (Accounting), general ledger management, and month-end closing processes.
- Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CPA) are an advantage.
- Experience in cost accounting within training, services, or similar sectors, and familiarity with ERP or accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail, numeric accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams on-site in Giza.
