Reports to: Manager, Accelerator Program
Role Purpose
The senior coordinator will provide direct support and coaching to early-stage startups within the AUC Venture Lab accelerator. He or She will work closely with a cohort of five to eight startups per cycle, guiding them through the acceleration process from selection to graduation. This role involves hands-on mentorship while also coordinating the mentorship network by matching startups with industry experts to ensure their growth and commercial viability.
Core Responsibilities
Startup Coaching and Monitoring:
- Coach five to eight startups per cycle to implement evidence-based entrepreneurship tools, helping them understand customers and formulate strategies
- Conduct meetings with selected startups to perform needs assessments and set realistic goals
- Draft weekly or monthly reports on assigned startups to track progress for sponsors and management
Mentorship Coordination:
- Coordinate relationships with sector mentors, including acquiring new mentors for the network
- Organize "mentor mingle" schedules and match startups to appropriate mentors based on their needs
- Shadow industry experts during mentorship events to ensure effective engagement
Selection and Program Support:
- Filter and score applications bi-yearly according to V-Lab guidelines
- Conduct interviews with selected applicants and monitor interaction during selection events, e.g., Bootcamps
- Recommend strategies and tactics that improve the program for startups based on feedback
Additional Related Duties:
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of five years of experience
Technical Skills:
- Coaching: Empathetic and patient, with the ability to guide founders through challenges
- Communication: Excellent Arabic and English writing and speaking skills
- Digital: Technologically savvy with excellent computer and internet skills
- Interpersonal: Social and willing to meet new people, with high emotional intelligence
- Organizational: Highly organized and capable of multitasking
