We are seeking a Compliance Officer / Senior Compliance Officer to join our Legal & Compliance team supporting a UAE-licensed CFD brokerage operation under a Category 1 licence. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role within a business that is still being built. The successful candidate will work as part of a regional Legal & Compliance team, with local ownership and direct access to senior legal counsel and Group Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Client KYC and onboarding, risk classification, PEP and sanctions screening, and ongoing due diligence.
- Transaction monitoring, suspicious activity escalation and reporting.
- Regulatory reporting - periodic and ad hoc submissions.
- Product compliance for CFD and leveraged products, including disclosures and marketing review.
- Client complaint handling and record-keeping under licence conditions.
- Supporting regulator inspections, audits and information requests.
- Embedding compliance controls into the trading platform, client portal and IT/data infrastructure.
Key Requirements
- 2-3+ years of relevant experience in CFD, retail FX or leveraged derivatives compliance under a Category 1 or comparable license.
- Working knowledge of the UAE regulatory landscape and AML/CFT requirements relevant to brokerage or financial services, with equivalent experience in a comparable regulated environment also considered.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Preferred Experience
- Experience operationalising a new license.
- ICA, CAMS, CISI or equivalent certification.
- Arabic or Mandarin language capability would be an advantage
