Role Description The Senior Associate will handle a portfolio of complex legal matters, including drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and pleadings, and providing strategic advice on commercial, corporate, and dispute resolution issues. Responsibilities include managing client relationships, leading case preparation, appearing before courts and arbitral tribunals as needed, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to move matters forward efficiently. The role involves supervising and mentoring junior team members, contributing to legal research, and supporting business development initiatives such as client presentations and thought leadership. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Muscat, requiring regular collaboration with colleagues and clients at the firm’s office.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in commercial and corporate law, with proven experience in litigation, and dispute resolution.
- Advanced legal drafting and document review skills, including the ability to prepare contracts, pleadings, legal opinions, and advisory memoranda.
- Proficiency in legal research, case analysis, and application of relevant legislation, regulations, and precedents.
- Effective client relationship management skills, including the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers, with the ability to delegate tasks and review work for accuracy and quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are highly advantageous.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- LLB or equivalent law degree from a recognized institution; admission to practice law in Oman or eligibility for local registration is preferred.
- Several years of post-qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department, ideally with exposure to regional or international matters.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to ethical practice, aligned with the firm’s standards of legal excellence.
