Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting Quality Assurance Consultant to support a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation program for a leading Oil & Gas organization in Saudi Arabia.
The consultant will be part of an Independent Quality Assurance (QA) team responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and validating SAP Group Reporting solutions and implementation deliverables developed by the System Integrator (SI).
The role requires deep functional expertise in SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting, Legal and Management Consolidation, Intercompany Matching and Elimination, Currency Translation, Financial Data Integration, and Group Financial Reporting.
The successful candidate will independently assess solution designs, identify implementation risks, evaluate testing and deployment readiness, and ensure alignment with SAP S/4HANA leading practices and applicable International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The engagement will follow a phase-wise deployment model across an approximately 24-month transformation program, requiring onsite participation in Saudi Arabia during designated project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting Solution Assurance
- Independently review SAP S/4HANA Group Reporting solution designs, configurations, and functional specifications.
- Assess consolidation architecture, consolidation units, consolidation groups, organizational hierarchies, and reporting structures.
- Validate consolidation methods, ownership structures, financial statement items, and consolidation rules.
- Review the alignment of Group Reporting solutions with business requirements, SAP leading practices, and IFRS reporting standards.
- Identify functional gaps, configuration inconsistencies, and implementation risks, and recommend improvements.
- Legal Consolidation and Statutory Reporting
- Review legal consolidation processes and their alignment with applicable IFRS requirements.
- Assess consolidation structures, ownership relationships, and consolidation methods, including full consolidation and equity method accounting.
- Validate investment consolidation, ownership changes, Non-Controlling Interest (NCI), and consolidation adjustments.
- Review accounting treatments for acquisitions, disposals, and changes in group ownership where applicable.
- Assess the accuracy and completeness of consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, and equity-related reporting.
- Identify accounting inconsistencies and financial reporting compliance risks.
- Management Consolidation and Financial Reporting
- Review management consolidation processes across legal entities, business units, operational segments, and geographical locations.
- Assess management reporting hierarchies, consolidation dimensions, and financial performance indicators.
- Evaluate consistency between statutory consolidation and management reporting.
- Review consolidated financial reports, management dashboards, and analytical reporting capabilities.
- Assess reporting accuracy, transparency, and the effectiveness of financial information used for management decision-making.
- Intercompany Matching, Reconciliation and Elimination
- Review intercompany matching, reconciliation, and elimination designs.
- Validate intercompany transaction identification, matching rules, and reconciliation methodologies.
- Assess elimination processes involving intercompany receivables, payables, revenues, expenses, dividends, investments, and unrealized profits.
- Evaluate SAP Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation (ICMR) functionality where implemented.
- Review exception handling, unreconciled balances, elimination postings, and reconciliation controls.
- Identify risks affecting consolidated financial statement accuracy.
- Currency Translation and Multinational Consolidation
- Review currency translation designs across multiple legal entities and currencies.
- Validate local currency, group currency, exchange rate types, and translation methods.
- Assess foreign currency translation adjustments and cumulative translation reserves where applicable.
- Review currency translation treatment for Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and equity-related items.
- Evaluate the accuracy of currency conversion, exchange rate integration, and related consolidation reporting.
- Identify risks affecting multinational consolidation and IFRS compliance.
- Group Reporting Data Integration and Collection
- Assess financial data integration between SAP S/4HANA Finance and Group Reporting.
- Review financial data extraction, transformation, mapping, loading, and validation processes.
- Evaluate data collection from SAP and non-SAP entities, including flexible upload mechanisms.
- Assess SAP Group Reporting Data Collection capabilities where applicable.
- Validate financial statement item mappings, reporting classifications, master data consistency, and data reconciliation.
- Identify data quality, completeness, and integration risks.
- Group Financial Close and Consolidation Processes
- Review the design and execution of group financial close calendars and consolidation activities.
- Assess dependencies between entity-level financial close and group-level consolidation.
- Evaluate consolidation task sequencing, financial submissions, adjustments, and reconciliation processes.
- Review period-end and year-end consolidation procedures, approval workflows, and exception handling.
- Assess consolidation monitoring capabilities and the effectiveness of financial close controls.
- Recommend improvements to support timely and accurate group financial reporting.

- Review consolidation rules, data mappings, customization requirements, and functional dependencies.
- Challenge proposed solutions where unnecessary complexity, control weaknesses, or functional gaps are identified.
- Participate in design assurance reviews and formal project Quality Gate assessments.
- Evaluate implementation deliverables, unresolved issues, and milestone readiness.
- Document QA findings and provide recommendations to project governance committees.
- System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Review SIT strategies, test plans, scripts, coverage, execution results, and defect management.
- Validate testing coverage for legal consolidation, management consolidation, intercompany elimination, currency translation, ownership consolidation, and group financial reporting.
- Assess end-to-end integration testing across multiple entities, currencies, reporting periods, and financial systems.
- Review defect resolution, retesting evidence, and testing exit criteria.
- Evaluate UAT readiness, business participation, scenario coverage, and acceptance criteria.
- Validate business sign-offs and identify testing gaps before deployment.
- Data Migration and Financial Reconciliation Assurance
- Review Group Reporting data migration strategies, mapping, transformation, cleansing, and load procedures.
- Assess migration of consolidation units, groups, financial statement items, ownership structures, historical financial balances, intercompany balances, and consolidation adjustments.
- Validate data accuracy, completeness, and reconciliation between legacy systems, entity-level financial records, and SAP Group Reporting.
- Review migration testing, exception handling, and reconciliation sign-offs.
- Identify data integrity risks affecting consolidation accuracy and financial reporting.
- Cutover, Go-Live and Post-Go-Live Assurance
- Review cutover plans, deployment strategies, operational readiness, and contingency arrangements.
- Assess cutover rehearsals, financial data readiness, system integrations, and reporting capabilities.
- Evaluate business continuity procedures and rollback plans.
- Conduct independent Go-Live readiness assessments for SAP Group Reporting.
- Review unresolved defects, reconciliation differences, and reporting risks before production deployment.
- Assess post-Go-Live hypercare, incident resolution, and system stabilization.
- Recommend corrective actions to support reliable consolidation and financial reporting after deployment.
- Risk Management, Governance and Reporting
- Identify functional, accounting, reporting, integration, testing, migration, and deployment risks.
- Maintain QA findings, risk registers, issue logs, and recommendation trackers.
- Monitor corrective action implementation and closure of critical QA findings.
- Prepare quality assurance reports, executive summaries, and management presentations.
- Present findings to Group Finance, the System Integrator, project leadership, and governance committees.
- Escalate significant risks affecting implementation quality, IFRS compliance, or reporting accuracy.
- Maintain independence and objectivity throughout the assurance engagement.
Mandatory Skills And ExperienceCandidates must meet the following requirements:
Preferred Qualifications
- * SAP S/4HANA certification in Group Reporting, Financial Consolidation, or a related functional area.
- Previous experience as an SAP Group Reporting QA Consultant, Solution Assurance Consultant, Consolidation Lead, or Solution Architect.
- Experience on large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation or independent QA engagements in the GCC.
- Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology and implementation quality gates.
- Familiarity with SAP Signavio, SAP Solution Manager, or SAP Cloud ALM.
- Experience with SAP Intercompany Matching and Reconciliation (ICMR).
- Knowledge of SAP Group Reporting Data Collection and integration with non-SAP financial systems.
- Experience working with major System Integrators.
- Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
