Role Description The Risk Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Bahrain (CR-194161-1 Office 51 Building 43 Road 3901 Block 939 Riffa/Al Hajiyat).
Develop and implement the company’s enterprise risk management (ERM) framework in line with Central Bank insurance regulations, internal governance frameworks and international best practices
• Identify, assess, and monitor key business risks, including strategic, operational, financial, regulatory / compliance, technology / cyber risks, etc.
• Advise management on risk mitigation strategies and support business continuity planning
• Prepare and regularly update detailed risk register, RCMs and other key documents
• Conduct periodic risk assessments and sample audits to ensure compliance with ERM framework
• Arrange quarterly Risk Committee meetings with updates, presentations, minutes and action plans
• Submit annual risk reports to Central Bank and respond to any required notifications / actions
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations applicable for insurance broking, internal governance frameworks and international best practices relating to risk management function
• Satisfactorily handle regulatory audits, external or internal audits relating to risk management function
• Conduct risk awareness training for key staff and promote a culture of proactive risk management within the organization
• Any other risk management task or report mandated by Central Bank in future
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Enterprise Risk Management, with experience implementing risk frameworks and policies.
- Knowledge of Regulatory Compliance requirements and the ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations.
- Advanced Analytical Skills, including data analysis, risk modeling, and critical thinking.
- Solid understanding of Finance, financial instruments, and risk-related financial metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Accounting, Risk Management, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, CRM) are an advantage.
- Experience in risk and audit roles within Trade Credit Insurance, or related sectors.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
- High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing risks.
Job Summary
