AKF Construction Inc. is a licensed general contractor based in Orange County and Los Angeles, California, specializing in high-end custom homes, luxury remodels, ADUs, and commercial tenant improvements for restaurant, medical, and retail clients. Our projects range from $300K to $4M+.
We're hiring a full-time Remote Office Engineer based in Jordan to own project administration for our estimating and project management team. This role follows the Office Engineer model used by major US general contractors: you handle the technical office work so our project managers and field teams can focus on building. You will work directly with company leadership and our US-based project team every day — this is not a back-office data-entry role; it's a position with real ownership over how projects run.
Why this role is different:
This is a chance to work on high-end US construction projects from day one, build direct experience with American construction standards and software, and grow into a Project Engineer role as our company scales from a regional contractor toward $20M+ in annual revenue. You'll have direct access to company leadership, not layers of middle management.
Key responsibilities:
- Create, track, and close out RFIs with clear, solutions-oriented questions
- Manage the submittal and shop drawing process with subcontractors and suppliers
- Administer contract changes: price, track, and log change orders
- Manage subcontractor and supplier communication, bid solicitation, and bid leveling
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from architectural and structural drawings
- Track job cost (budget vs. committed vs. actual) and report variances
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery schedules to support the project timeline
- Update project schedules and report on progress and production trends
- Maintain document control: drawing logs, specifications, permits, contracts, meeting minutes
- Track permit and plan-check status with city building agencies
- Assemble project closeout documents: warranties, O&M manuals, as-builts
Working hours: Minimum 8 hours daily, overlapping 7:00 AM–3:00 PM US Pacific Time (approximately 5:00 PM–1:00 AM Jordan time; shifts to 6:00 PM–2:00 AM Jordan time from November to March).
Benefits: Fully remote position, paid monthly in USD, long-term role with a defined growth path to Project Engineer, Project Manager, and direct exposure to high-end US construction projects from the start.
