Momentum Insurance Agent, a company of Chedid Capital Group, is looking for a Claims Officer responsible for managing the end-to-end claims process, ensuring timely, accurate, and policy-compliant claims handling while evaluating liability, coordinating with key stakeholders, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting risk management through effective reserving, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities:
Claims Management
- Oversee claims lifecycle from notification to final settlement.
- Ensure claims are processed accurately, efficiently, and within timelines.
- Review and approve claims for coverage and liability.
Claims Evaluation
- Analyse claims to determine validity, liability, and quantum of loss.
- Ensure fair, consistent, and policy-compliant settlement decisions.
- Authorise settlements within delegated authority limits and investigate suspicious claims.
Reserving
- Set and monitor claims reserves and settlement costs.
- Approve payments and ensure financial exposure is properly managed.
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, legal, and internal policy requirements.
- Conduct audits and file reviews to maintain quality and compliance.
- Maintain documentation standards for litigation and regulatory review.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with policyholders, brokers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, and legal counsel.
- Coordinate with external experts (surveyors, medical experts, investigators).
- Manage disputes, negotiations, and litigation handling.
Process Improvement
- Develop and implement claims procedures and best practices.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and improve turnaround times.
- Align claims strategies with overall business and underwriting objectives.
Customer Service
- Ensure fair, transparent, and timely communication with claimants.
- Resolve complaints and escalated disputes effectively.
- Maintain customer satisfaction while protecting company interests.
Data Analysis
- Analyse claims trends (frequency, severity, fraud indicators).
- Prepare reports for senior management.
Risk Management & Recovery
- Identify opportunities for subrogation and recovery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law – strongly preferred.
- 2–3 years of experience in the legal or insurance claims field.
- A strong understanding of insurance policies and coverage wording, insurance law and contract law, liability assessment and negligence principles, and regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with high attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Arabic, English, and French.
