Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor (QS) role based in Doha, Qatar. The QS will be responsible for preparing and reviewing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include tracking project costs, evaluating variations, preparing interim payment applications, and supporting contract administration. The role also involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate budgeting, cost control, and compliance with contractual obligations. The QS will assist in negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers, preparing final accounts, and maintaining detailed records to support transparent and efficient project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in quantity take-off, cost estimation, and preparation of bills of quantities.
- Experience in contract administration, including handling variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Proficiency in construction measurement standards and familiarity with relevant local and international codes.
- Ability to use QS and construction software (e.g., Excel, cost management tools, estimating software).
- Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong numerical and reporting skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a QS in construction or contracting environments, preferably in the Middle East.
- Knowledge of local market rates, materials, and subcontractor pricing in Qatar is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Doha and manage multiple tasks within project deadlines.
